Living in Brussels

This is Angelika in her inflatable dotty armchair. After spending a lot of time in London, Budapest, Madrid, Sofia and elsewhere and most of it long-distanced from each other we are happy to be in Brussels together. We rent a beautiful flat in Etterbeek, close to the Cinquantenaire Park and Rue des Tongres. There is a lovely view from our window, from the top of a hill... few nice estates, a huge and beautiful old tree in one of the gardens that seems to predict what the weather is likely to be. I can judge it by the colour of its leaves, the sun-light it radiates and the wind in its crown. I probably love rain more than I like the sunny weather so what could be a better place for me to be. It rains a lot here. I already bought about 10 different umbrellas - patterns and sizes vary and amuze me - but I am still looking for the perfect rubber rain boots. Svet leads a team of 4 at the EU 's Committee of Regions and was just invited to teach Political Strategies at the University of Kent in Brussels. Angelika started going to the Council's creche (she does not spend much time there as poor kids are sick always and she experiences the 'running nose' syndrom for the first time. And I refuse to accept it as 'normal' my kid to be sick all the time so she just stays home with me). Whenever she does not stay home with me, I study French and paint (... finally again! first project is called Green Apples).
