Beautiful Budapest, my second home

Hungary was the first country abroad I visited. Budapest - what an amazing city! I loved the place from first sight. Later, I graduated from the Central European University in Budapest completing one of my MA degrees there. I then started working for my university as fundraising and development officer. I bought a beautiful flat in the 6th district, near Kodaly Korond.
I almost gave birth to our daughter Angelika in Budapest (she was born in Sofia in January 2007). I met wonderful friends, I felt in love at least twice, I never stopped walking along the beautiful Andrassy bullevard and not so beautiful but dear to me little side streets, Szabadsag ter. I never stopped enjoying the Turkish baths - I spent long mornings and afternoons in Szechenyi furdo. I loved learning Hungarian. Budapest was on the map of meeting places for me and Svet (whose grand-father happens to be Hungarian). I married him twice - second time being in Budapest - in a beautiful church ceremony in the Bulgarian church on Vagohid utca. Yesterday, I came back from a not-so-long weekend in Budapest. Other than having the usual once-a-year property visit, I attended the CEU alumni gala dinner celebrating my 10th year anniversary graduation from CEU. The dinner was on a boat near Lanchid, with the astonishing view of Danube and the city on both sides. I met with good friends, remembered the old times, enjoyed every minute. I cannot wait to be back there next year. I am back to Brussels but part of me lives in Budapest, somewhere between Hosok Ter, Kodaly Korond, Octogon and Szabadsag ter. And always will do.
